I was really hoping that someone like Ika or Howard or Arlie who I was worried about would win the backwards HOH. Then they would be ineligible to win the next one, and it would be one less person I would have to worry about putting me up. Jun winning would have been amazing too but that was never happening. But Kelsey won which really wasn’t ideal. She told me she was going to throw it, but either she backed out or everybody threw it so much harder.
But after yesterday, I am so so happy that she won. SHE GOT A DIAMOND POWER OF VETO! Our luck is really turning around in this game! I hope she would consider using it on me. I’m pretty confident I’m her #1, so we will have to see I guess. I understand if she’d rather keep it for herself but it would be so amazing to get a dpov used to save me.
There’s also the issue of what Kelsey is going to tell the others. One of the reasons I was always leaning towards not opening Pandoras Box was that after Sarah won the DPOV and kept it a secret in RNF13, I assumed nobody would let it happen again. There is a huge fear of the unknown. Even if someone tells you what they got from their box, there’s no way of knowing if they’re telling the truth or not.
I suggested to Kelsey that she tell people she got a “revenge nomination.” The “rules” for this are that if she is ever evicted, the next round she gets to put one person up on the block as a third nomination. Hopefully this means that when there’s a HOH that decides to target us, they will be scared to put us up together and Kelsey can use her DPOV. It’s also unthreatening enough (best case scenario for Kelsey is it never gets used) that I don’t see people targeting her for it, as long as they believe the story.
After I suggested the revenge nomination to her, I realized that how this could end up playing out was that me and Kelsey go up, people are scared to evict Kelsey and Kelsey decides to let me go and keep the DPOV for herself. I don’t think Kelsey’s the kind of ally who would do that but it’s too late to back out now!
As for the eviction, it’s not what I would have done but I’m okay with it. Kelsey won HOH and I didn’t really care who stayed between David and Natalie. David’s really been rubbing me the wrong way recently. What he did to Shelli just wasn’t right, and I’m happy for him to go to prejury and let him deal with Shelli’s wrath. He told me I was one of the best allies he’s had and that he was going to try to help me out. But I also wasn’t sure if he actually meant it or if he hoped I would talk to Kelsey? He did end up telling me all the people he had deals with. Me, Jackie, Erika, Zach, Howard and Cody. It’s interesting but not very surprising.
Going into the next week, I’m going to be trying to win the HOH. I probably don’t need it. Jun and Ika are going to be big targets, and they would probably go after Erika if they won. Well at least Ika would. I have no idea what Jun would do and that really worries me. She’s probably the most mad at Erika? But she knows that she got 7 votes and I have been pretty open about the fact that I’m targeting her. I have a lot of respect for Jun as a player, and I’m sure she would try to use her HOH the best way she could to reintegrate herself back into the game. What also worries me is the structure of this endurance HOH. Everything is public and you can see how well everyone is doing. A lot of people are going to start at the end of the window and I’m not going to have 7+ hours of uninterrupted time after the 36 hour deadline. I’m going to have to start earlier, and if I flop I won’t be included in any deal. Jackie, Erika and Jun all said that they’re going hard for HOH and if Jun’s the HOH and Jackie/Erika give it to her, who is Jun going to go after?
If I did win HOH, I would try to backdoor Jun. It wouldn’t surprise me if she was throwing all of these competitions. And the one competition I know she didn’t throw, last week’s veto, she totally smoked. I do not want to give her the chance to come off the block and get a second week to reintegrate herself. If Howard did leave though, I would be secretly happy with that. Howard and I barely ever talk game, he’s in good with a lot of people, and he’s one of the hunnys most likely to survive, if they start taking hits.
It’s been a little while since I did a cast assessment, so I’ll rank the other players by how much I trust them.
1. Kelsey Trust: 100%
I don’t know what I would do in this game without Kelsey. She’s been with me every step of the way, she’s told me about her DPOV and I feel like I can trust her with anything. She’s been a great ally and we’ve been through so much together. Kelsey’s one of my favorite allies I’ve had in a while. I want to say more about her, but I just don’t know what to say. She’s great.
2. Corey Trust: 80%
Corey’s been pretty trustworthy. He’s not the most active but we’ve been on the same page pretty much every round, and he’s talked about making a three person group with me and Kelsey. It feels like I’m close to him by convenience though? Jen was close to him, Shelli was close to him, he’s closer to Kelsey than me. I don’t mind him at all but I don’t feel like we have a super tight bond. Becky called me, Shelli, Kelsey and Corey out as an alliance and while it wasn’t true, everybody being so eager to get rid of Shelli is the reason I feel closer to Corey. Before I would have been happy to let him go but now it’s like the other players have forced us together.
3. Cody Trust: 75%
When I heard Shelli was about to be put up, I asked Cody for an alliance. We had been connecting better and I saw him as an important vote. He accepted (which is promising since he turned down Shelli’s offer to work together ) but he never really was open to saving Shelli. He had apparently promised Jackie his vote. That didn’t make me feel good and it’s the reason he’s below Corey, but other than that, I feel pretty good about him? I’ve said for a while that I wanted to pull him in, for his competition skill and his loyalty, and I feel like I’ve succeeded? I don’t know what else he has going on. He apparently had a deal with David and I had no idea. But even before Howie’s Hunnys leaked, he was open with me about not trusting Jun and that made me feel better about him. It’s easy to say something “safe” that can’t get spread around but to tell me that he doesn’t trust the person who was at the time the most powerful person in the game is a very good sign. He’s also against Zach which is a very good thing. I’m focusing on breaking up Howie’s Hunnys, especially Jun and Ika, but I do not want Zach to slip further into the game.
4. Erika: 50%
Do I trust Erika? No. Do I like Erika? Not really. Then why is she up this high? I’m not sure! I guess of the people left, she’s given me the least reason not to trust her? Which is a little weird with what happened during Shelli’s eviction. She said she was open to saving Shelli, while sitting on a huge piece of info that, according to Ika, would have made her flip her vote. I would be totally fine if Ika won HOH and got rid of her, but I also would be really happy if Erika won HOH.
5. Zach: 45%
This is a little awkward after saying how I wanted him to get targeted soon, but it just goes to show how I feel about everybody left in the game! Zach I really do like talking to and we have kind of a truce going on right now. He probably has lots of deals though. He did have a deal with David, and he talked about how he wanted to work with me. I'm a little worried about him slipping by but for now I like him and our interests are the same.
6. Natalie: 30%
There are a lot of red flags with Natalie. She is in every alliance that gets exposed and never gets any heat for it. I would not have minded at all if she were the one to go last week. She’s one of the bigger threats in the game for sure, maybe even the biggest with Jun exposed. She’s given me a lot of good information though and I really hope she actually is telling the truth about being done with Ika and Jun. I feel like we’ve gotten over week 1, where I really damaged our relationship by almost putting her up. We’re talking game now finally and I really like her, and I’m hoping Kelsey has some pull with her to keep me safe. She’s pretty bad at maintaining conversations though. Our talks usually end when she just doesn’t reply.
7. Arlie: 25%
Arlie is by far the biggest wildcard in the game. I thought I had him figured out earlier. I figured he would just do what Zach told him to, and was too big of an idiot to see how he was being used. But during Shelli’s eviction, he voted for Zach over Shelli and I still don’t know why. And apparently he told Kelsey that he would have saved David over Natalie, when he put David on the block and (I assumed) he was working with Natalie. I’d love to have a better connection with him since I see him being an important piece lately. I mean, who’s going after him? But I just find the guy so boring to talk to, and we really don’t have any sort of connection. He told me that he was “going to keep his reasons to himself” of why he put up Jen and I didn’t feel safe when he had to make a replacement, even though we had made a deal to keep me safe.
8. Jackie: 10%
I’m not over her HOH reign. I get there are bigger targets and that she isn’t after me, but I just really, really dislike her. She lied to me for the whole week, told me she was keeping her replacement nominee a “secret” when I couldn’t do anything and posted that she was doing what the “house” wanted. What was even the point of that? Everybody knows it was a backdoor. And according to Ika, she knew about Howie’s Hunnys but sat on the info until Shelli was out. And she heavily implied she was considering keeping Jen when she never had any intention to do so. But we are on the same page about Jun and Ika. We compared notes about Ika telling me she had no idea what Jackie was doing while she tried to get Jackie to put Shelli up. Hopefully that made Jackie feel a little closer to me.
9. Howard: 5%
Howard is another wildcard in this game, and if he was the unfortunate victim of a Jun veto win or something, I would be totally fine with that. It seems like he’s in good with people without coming off as a threat. The alliance was named Howie’s Hunnys and Howie is the only person from that group who didn’t go up on the block! If only the nominations had stayed as Zach and Howard, Howard would have been the right choice to go. He nominated Jun in backwards week and has been distancing himself, but he also had many chances to expose the alliance and never did. On the night when the Jun/me/David and Jun/Zach/Nat/Becky groups both got exposed, I have no idea why he didn’t come forward. And I don’t feel like I have a relationship with him. He “says” he’ll nominate Jun though and he’s not happy at all with Jackie for using him as a pawn. So hopefully I would be okay if he won?
10. Ika: 0%
Ika keeps going on and on about how “real” she is and she’s the fakest one here. She’s also so entitled. Everything is about her. How she was a victim, how other people betrayed her, why she’s the funniest. It’s obvious that she so desperately wants to be the real life Ika Wong. She is totally unable to see things from other player’s perspectives and instead just whines about why things don’t go her way. And she tells So. Many. Unnecessary. Lies. I don’t even get what the point is for the lies she tells, she just tells them and acts like other people are the shady ones. Let’s list all the times Ika has been shady!
Ika and Zach come up with the idea of a winners alliance and offer it to me but it never really takes off. A couple days after it’s offered, Ika goes up to Natalie and tells her I want the winners to work together.
After Natalie, who I wanted to nominate during my HOH, is suddenly immune, I’m left with only Ika, Howard and Cody for people who I didn’t promise safety to. I put up Howard and Cody and keep Ika safe. Ika’s response is to go to Natalie and tell her I wanted to put her up.
Ika tells me out of nowhere that I’m the only person she has an alliance with (even though we don’t have an alliance). Later I find out that she’s involved in at least two alliances.
Ika tells me that she wants to get rid of all the guys. Well, she voted for Jen over David in week 4, Becky over Corey in week 5 and Shelli over Zach in week 6 and has a “showmance” with Howard soooo clearly not!
After Ika tells me she wants to get rid of all the guys, I say that I thought her and Howard are close. She emphatically denies this and tries to turn it into a racial thing, asking if I think this because they’re both black.
During Jackie’s HOH, Ika tells me that she has no idea what Jackie is going to do and all Jackie told her was that she was safe. Later I find out that she was campaigning hard to get Shelli backdoored.
Ika claims she was considering keeping Shelli. After everything I’ve heard about how much she wanted Shelli up and out, I have a lot of doubts over how sincere this was.
Ika has an alliance of four and never tells me (I don’t blame her for this but still)
Ika has a final 3 and never tells me
Ika tells me Howie’s Hunnys was formed during week 3. According to Natalie, it was formed during Week 1
I am just so done with Ika. Everything out of her mouth is a lie, and the lies she tells are so meaningless. Who cares if an alliance formed in week 3 or in week 1, or if you say you’re close with someone when you obviously are. I feel like I underestimated her, and after looking at all of this, I’m left thinking, wow, I didn’t know how sneaky she was!
And even now I feel like underestimating her. Ika is coming off as a nonthreat with how loud she is and that she's saying that she's coming after Jackie and Erika, two people I don't care about. I've caught myself saying, "oh, I'll target her last out of her alliance" but I think that would be a mistake. She's a lot better of a player than I expected and after all of her lies, I just can’t trust her at all.
11. Jun: 0%
It should be obvious what my feelings on Jun are. I can’t trust her at all and I do not want to give her a chance to find her footing. After making my list, I was surprised by all the times I said “Well I dont trust them but we’re on the same page about getting rid of Jun.” And it made me wonder if getting rid of Jun is the right move if it’s what everyone wants. And I still think that it is. Jun told Natalie week 1 how I was going to put her up, while to my face she was telling me how bad she felt for me. Meanwhile, she was hard at work at undermining me as much as possible. And this has made me wonder if she ever planned on working with me. She never told me anything of substance and told me how she wanted to rebuild trust while continuing to be her shady self. And even after her other alliance got exposed, she hasn’t even really attempted to talk to me about the game and I find that very telling. She’s got to be working on reestablishing her relationships with somebody, right? If it were truly in my best interest to keep Jun around, Jun would be talking to me and telling me that.
