So the week started off with the MVP twist coming to an end and a code breaker type Head of Household which I won back in season thirteen. As I said previously I had full intentions to try and win it but I don’t think it’s a necessity at this point it’d just be a nice thing to have guaranteed security. I’m in a spot where winning the HOH will definitely require me showing my hand and that’s going to be more of a negative than a positive at this point because it’ll disable me from competing for HoH next week and draw a lot of conversation about me to the forefront. The results come in and it’s between me/Howie/Corey… At this point I’m comfortable with either of the two winning HoH as I don’t see why I would be a nominee.
[break][break]
Ultimately Corey wins which means Kelsey/Porsche are going to be staying in this house a week longer basically. So looking at the other side of the house the person I’d most like to see leave would be either Zach or Arlie. Initially as soon as Corey wins he tells me that I’m safe and not going up on the block (without me even needing to plead my case). I ask him who he wants to target and he says Zach (which is perfect because that is exactly who I want to see gone). He suggest the idea of putting up Erika/Zach but I’m like why give him the chance to compete for veto at all? He’s proven to be a strong competitor when he needs to be and i prefer he go up as a replacement nominee because i'm pretty sure at this point who ever wins the veto will use it. He decides to put up Erika/Natalie (which i'm good with).
[break][break]
Then comes the veto “The Hunt” which I’m actually for once drawn to play. At this point I’m pretty sure I’ve competed in more challenges than anyone else this season. However, unfortunately Zach is also drawn which means I’m going to have to ensure I win this competition so he can eligible for the backdoor. I tell Corey if he wants it used I’ll use it on whoever he wants and he suggests that I use it on Erika as Nat and Zach are close. I’m all for this, I have a good relationship with Erika on the downlow and saving her can only make it better? Although she will probably realise it’s only to enable Zach to be backdoored. The results come in and your boy finally got to snag some gold and get some quality time with the power of veto. Now that I’ve secured my position in the game till the final eight it’s now a matter of diffusing the negative reactions of the rest of the house when I inevitably use the veto on Erika.
[break][break]
Natalie is obviously going to be irritated because we have a decent relationship, so assumingly I should save her. However, I don’t trust that Erika will stay against Zach when her strategy right now is to play dead and cuss everyone out. It’s much safer to have someone on the block that I know would have been a vote to keep Zach and has more relationships built (though Erika will probably vote to keep Zach too?). It’s just easier for me to justify keeping Natalie up in theory anyways. Also I need to keep showing to Erika that I legit want her around (because I actually do). I let Kelsey/Porsche know they’re completely fine with it. I let Arlie know and he legitimately doesn’t take me seriously and thinks I’m joking. I ask him for a reason to keep Zach and his only rationale is that he himself has a good relationship with Zach (which i'm like you could have at least pretended like there was a good reason for me to keep him?) Howie is for Zach going (apparently) but insists I use it on Natalie. I don’t see why it should matter considering Zach should go home either way but I’d much rather Natalie be the casualty at this point then Erika (someone I think I can beat). He suggests that we should be making an alliance with Natalie and if I don’t pull her off it can’t happen. Which is kinda low key a threat? Natalie doesn’t feel good about me not pulling her off but doesn’t show it too much (but i think she’s definitely mad on the inside). So after talking to everyone I use the veto and Corey sticks to his work and puts up Zach.
[break][break]
Zach at this point hasn’t even tried to campaign for me to keep him around (which is fine) but he’s definitely making an attempt to get people to keep him over Natalie. So I feel good that Erika isn’t sitting next to him because apparently he’s being pretty convincing and throwing me under the bus at the same time. There are definitely going to be pros and cons to each eviction as we go along but I definitely don’t want to pass up the opportunity to get rid of a threat that I probably can’t win against. Although it’s good to keep them around to negate attention from myself, I can’t guarantee I’ll get the opportunity again and I still have three other big threats in Kelsey/Porsche/Howie that will ideally shield me and take me further. At this point I need to start thinking about people I have a chance of beating and those are Erika/Arlie/Corey. So I need to find a way to position myself in a way that I can be sitting with one of them in the finale.
