Damn. That was a hard HOH. I don't think I did well but then again, I don't think anyone else did well either. So maybe I somehow have a shot?
I even made a 66 page google doc of everyone's previous DRs and it. didn't. help. at. all.
I ended up freaking out because I had one minute left and hadn't put 2nd choices for most of the questions so I just chose David and put him as my 2nd choice for everything. You're welcome David!
If I don't get HOH, the people I'm rooting for in order are:
1. Corey: I haven't checked in with him in a while. OOPS. Maybe I should do that. But I think we're pretty much on the same page, and I would feel safe with him. He probably targets Howard?
2. Cody: I definitely feel safe with him. I think he's going to put up Kelsey though, which is not what I want YET.
3. Kelsey: I like her the most in this cast by far, but I'm still not sure how close she is to Howard and Natalie. She's said repeatedly that she wouldn't put up Natalie. Cody is probably going to be her target, but who goes up next to him? The HOH doesn't get a vote and Howard/Natalie both want Cody out, so if she's smart, she'll nominate me or Corey next to him. If she doesn't though, and puts Howard or Natalie up next to Cody, I'll happily vote them out.
4. Howard: We haven't spoken about the game in a while. The nominees under a Howard HOH are almost 100% going to be me and Cody.

Okay. Well this isn't ideal, but it's not terrible. It'll be interesting to see Kelsey show her hand. Cody is going up obviously, but who is the second nominee? If it's me or Corey, then I can point it out to Corey to pry him away from Kelsey. Assuming we survive this vote. If she puts up Howard or Natalie, then it only takes two votes to get them out, and as long as Corey agrees they need to go, the votes are there.
I really need to talk to Corey and make sure we're on the same page. And I need to talk to Kelsey and make sure I'm not a pawn. Sure, Howard and Natalie are supposedly more after Cody, but I do not trust them in the slightest.

I was secretly hoping Cody could win veto so he would be safe without me having to get my hands dirty. Kelsey winning it is okay. It's much better than Howard winning it or, in the worst case scenario, Natalie winning. I just need to make sure she keeps nominations the same and then figure out what Corey wants to do.
Which is PRETTY HARD TO DO.
Attempt #1
I try to bring up the subject of Kelsey and maybe how it would be smarter to vote out Howard and neutralize that connection. Corey immediately leaves.
Attempt #2
I try to bring up the vote, he brings the conversation back to the veto challenge
Attempt #3
I decide to finally ask directly. Corey disappears.
Jesus Christ man. It's halfway through the week and I have no idea what you're thinking. The worst part is that I want him to be my #1. I heard Cody tried to throw me under the bus to Kelsey, and Kelsey is way too big of a threat to take to the end, and she still hasn't told me why she leaked our alliance to Howard. But how can Corey be my #1 when I can't even have a game conversation with the guy?
The other people have their own problems too. I was reading through people's old DRs in preparation for the last HOH and I stumbled across this gem from Shelli:
I find that hilarious because that's my biggest problem with Natalie too. We start talking (usually when I initiate), we talk for 5-10 minutes and then she disappears. She's always done it but she seems to be dropping the convo quicker and quicker now.
The only person I even enjoy talking to anymore is Kelsey.

Uggghhh. My experience in playing these games is that when you try to get somebody to do X and they say "wellll, I'm still thinking about it, but I might do Y" then there mind is completely made up on doing Y and they're just humoring you.
So what I'm getting from this is Howard is probably going to put me up, and doesn't trust me enough to talk strategy with me. Which is totally understandable, and probably warranted! But it's like, I can keep him around, or I can keep Cody, who has clear targets and who wants to work with me. Hmmmm. Come on Corey!

Okay, well Corey changed his mind.
Dylan - Today at 5:27 PM Lol Nah I bootlisted Porsche - Today at 5:27 PM Good To evict Cody? Dylan - Today at 5:28 PM Ya Porsche - Today at 5:28 PM Mhm Dylan - Today at 5:33 PM Alright. I'll do Howie. But I think next round we strike against Kelsey Even if it's backdoor
I'm not really sure why he changed so quickly, but Cody says he made a final 2 with Corey, so maybe that's part of it. Whatever, I'm just happy that Howard is out. He was a very scary adversary, and I really did not want to go up against Howard/Natalie next round in the HOH. Howard called me "one of the smartest mofos he's seen" so maybe he can take that train of thought to the jury!
It's going to be really awkward going forward though. I promised Kelsey I was going to evict Cody and I broke that. She's going to be sketched out by me and she has every reason to be. And Natalie isn't happy at all, and I can't blame her. I'm definitely going to go on the block if she wins HOH.
My weakness in other games has always come at this point, however. I'll be at the final 6 and final 7 and be in a position where I really need to make a move, decide not to do it out of loyalty or passiveness, and then get cut in a few rounds. I didn't want that to happen again, and Howard going is better for me than Cody going.
