Round 1

I don't have a LOT to say since it still feels so early and I have no idea who I'm going to be working with or who's close to who or even who the targets are. I feel really nervous but the worst mistake I can make is to play too aggressively. I'm going to keep talking to everyone and be pleasant and hopefully either me or someone from my clique wins HOH. If that doesn't happen then hopefully the HOH winners are people I've talked to. I don't mean to sound defeated but I came in not wanting to play too aggressively right out of the gate, and I want to stick to that. I've talked to almost everyone, so hopefully that will get me through the first week.

We were asked to rank who we wanted to be in our clique. I made my list by ranking everyone based on their competition ability, and by how worried I would be if they got HOH and then averaged the lists together. Here's my ranking based on who I feel the least safe with.

1. Michael: We haven't talked, and I'm worried he could win HOH
2. Jackie: We also haven't talked
3. Tiffany: We had a very short conversation, as in 4 lines short
4. Natalie: We had one conversation which was longer than I thought it was while making the list, but it didn't really feel like we had that much in common
5. Howard: I didn't talk to him at all until last night, and then we had a short conversation.
6. Ika: I like her and I enjoy our conversations but it didn't feel like we really clicked
7. Becky: She's nice and we've talked a couple times and we've shared our love of bad puns. I'm not really sure why she's so low. I guess it's just, most of our conversations seem kind of surface level?
8. Shelli: She's nice and pretty social but our conversations also seem surface level. I hope she's smart enough to not target another winner.
9. Arlie: We have nice enough conversations and he's a big fan of survivor and big brother and we can bond through that. We never really talked about anything else though.
10. Steve: After days of being online at different times, I finally reached him and he was nice enough. He wrote me a poem which makes him rise three spots by itself. Our conversation kind of died out at the end.
11. David: Our conversations got off to a bit of an awkward start, but I really like him, and I was reminded of why we clicked so much in RNF13
12. Jen: She's hard to read and I probably have her too low. We have fun, flirty conversations but nothing of too much substance and it's hard to tell what she thinks of me. Then again, I was worried about her for the same reason last season and she was always pretty loyal.
13. Corey: We only had one conversation but it was a pretty solid one and I enjoyed it. He's also a replacement so I feel like I'm one of the people he's talked to more.
14. Sarah: We had just one short conversation but we clicked pretty much instantly. We haven't spoken since then but it also seems like she's...not really around a lot. That's another reason I have her down this low too, since she pretty much told me she would be busy and I don't really want her in my clique.
15. Cody: He told me he wouldn't nominate me. It's hard to tell how serious he was since he was joking around in that moment but I'll take it. He's also someone I feel I can have a conversation with, even though we were on opposite sides in our season
16. Erika: She's surprisingly been one of the people I've talked to the most. I'm a little nervous since she hated Kalia and I think my gameplay in 13 had some similarities to hers, but hopefully that won't matter. She's also in a different timezone and I'm one of the people online late enough to consistently have conversations with her.
17. Zach: We finally talked and had a nice conversation. He seems pretty worried about being seen as a threat so I think I can work that angle with him if he were to win HOH.
18. Jun: I'm actually not feeling too good about her, despite this ranking. James didn't like me and I get the feeling Jun is ehh on me. But Jun told me I was safe if she won HOH, and I think I can count on that, at least for now.
19. Kelsey: The best and deepest conversations I've had have been with her. We've told each other that we wouldn't nominate each other and I feel very safe with her. We've even started talking a little bit of strategy. I'm not sure if she would have me as her #1 since the girl is really good socially but I'm confident I would have nothing to worry about if she won HOH.

Well, I'm happy to win it. I was trying in that HOH comp so I would get safety because 1) not feeling great about anyone other than Kelsey, 2) being a big target and a winner, 3) botb AND cliques meaning half the people who are vulnerable get nominated. And I won!

But now I have the power, and I really don't know what I'm going to do with it. I would love to put Jackie up or even Michael but I also put the people I hadn't spoken to high in my clique rankings, sooo now I'm stuck with them.

I'm thinking Natalie for being the person I've talked to the least that's vulnerable, and Cody for being my DT. But they both seem really nice. I'm kinda regretting winning this HOH now, but I've already won the power, and now I just need to use it in the best way.

Well, this is a disaster hoh for me. I was feeling pretty good about a Natalie/Cody nom. Not GREAT since I kinda like both those people but I had reasons. Natalie for me not talking to her as much as the others, and Cody for being my direct target.

But now Natalie is safe and Cody is no longer my direct target so it's like, who the fuck do I nominate?

And of course, I had to tell basically everyone I was nominating Natalie, so it's going to get around to her, or maybe it already has.

And to top it all off, once I had felt good about Cody/Nat noms I started to tell people they were safe. Corey, Becky, Jun, Zach, Kelsey, sort of Ika. Some of those were before I decided on my noms, but still.

Steve's DT is Howard, so I'm trying to convince him to put Howard up so I can put Sarah up. Which I don't WANT to put Sarah up because I really like her as a person but she's my DT and she's probably the most inactive in the cast, so it would be a nomination that people would be okay with. Then I would just need to find one more.

And I don't mean to whine, I know the hosts are doing the best I can. This whole thing is just really frustrating. And to be fair, part of it is my fault for putting the people I hadn't talked to high on my list. If I just don't pick Jackie, she's an easy nom and this week is so much easier.

What this has taught me is that if RNF13 Porsche wins a single early HOH, she doesn't win the game.

Thank you, I know it's hard keeping track of everything and not screwing up. It just sucks that it happened during my HOH but at least I'm safe for the week, assuming Steve keeps his word.

It sucks that I can't do Natalie anymore, but I've still got to make two nominations and complaining won't fix anything.

So who are my options?




Steve mentioned doing Sarah and Zach (though according to Becky, Steve was going to put Zach up for not speaking to him but Zach had talked to him but Steve didn't realize it)

But Zach talked to me about a winners alliance with Ika and talked about pulling in Shelli, so I don't feel like I can do either of them.

I've also got a secret alliance with Kelsey and I can't put her up. This whole round has been a mess but I'm really grateful to Kelsey for being there to talk to. This would be so much worse if I didn't feel as close to her.

Jun, I actually feel a little threatened by. But she was Rachelle, right? I get the feeling that if I'm putting her up, I have to mean it, and I wouldn't mean it. And I did promise her safety so I think it's smart to just stick with that for now.

So who's left? Becky, Corey, Cody, Howard, Erika. The problem is that I've promised Becky and Corey safety and kinda promised it to Erika too.

I tried to talk to Steve this morning but he would keep logging on, leave one message and then disappear for an hour. So I feel like he isn't going to let me nominate Sarah.I feel like it would be smart for him to compromise with me on this though. I would owe him one and would consider him one of my closest allies if I did it. If he took Sarah for himself, I wouldn't backdoor him if he got dethroned, but I wouldn't really care about him going forward.

I was thinking about this, and I really liked what Tim did in season 4 with the gummy bears. Right now I'm just going to go around asking people who they aren't close to and then put them up, saying it's what "the house" wants. I know that's not interesting to watch and I know you HCers aren't going to like it, but it's the best way to get out of this with the least amount of blood on my hands, especially since everyone knows I wanted to put Natalie up. If I get dethroned, it could be like I nominated three people and none of them went, and I definitely need to minimize the blood on my hands.

So shocker! Steve isn't going to put Howard up and he isn't going to let me take Sarah as a nominee. Which sucks, this HOH is really going to hurt my game. I wasn't expecting anything else though. It's Steve. He doesn't go out on a limb for his allies and he'll take the safe route if he can. I'm whatever on him but I'm not going to backdoor him.

He told me he was doing Sarah and Corey and said I should do Cody and Ika. Cody, yeah, I can see. He's someone people said they weren't close to and I didn't promise him anything. Ika I don't want to do. Zach threw out the idea of a winners alliance and it would be dumb to target her, even though she's apparently on the outs and would be an easy nomination?

So if Sarah/Corey are off the table, and I have deals with Zach/Ika/Kelsey, then that leaves Becky, Jun, Cody, Howard and Erika. Cody, yeah, I think I should put up. Jun I said earlier I feel like I shouldn't put up. And that leaves Becky, Erika, and Howard.

So Cody is probably one of my nominees because it seems like most people don't feel close to him. And then between Becky, Erika and Howard, I promised Becky safety and when Erika asked me if she was safe I said I liked talking with her. Which isn't really a promise but it's true, of the three of them I've connected with her the most.

The only one I haven't promised safety is Howard so...

I feel really bad because Howard did the right thing and it seems so wrong for him to go from being safe, to speaking up and voluntarily giving up his safety, to being nominated instantly.

This BOTB is going to be Howard (good in comps), Cody (great in comps) vs Sarah (not around) and Corey (won no comps in his season, says he won't be around)

yeah I'm totally getting dethroned.

Me: Steve, I have an idea. Your DT is Howard, right? What if you put him up and I put up Sarah since she was my DT?
Steve: I don't care about rewards
Me: This is easier for us to explain and puts less blood on our hands
Steve: I already told everyone I was putting up Sarah and I can't go back on that
Me: But Sarah and Howard are going up anyway! Let's just switch.
Steve: I can't do that. You're not mad at me, right?
Me: Ummmm, no, totally not!

It's really frustrating because Steve is having a way better HOH reign than me and is totally outplaying me. He says he wants to work with me and will back me up if I get into a corner, buttt I'm not so sure if I want to work with him.

When is my deadline for nominations? The results went up about 23 hours ago, but the change in cliques and DTs made me change my plan.

We were originally going to keep nominations due at 6:30 EDT, but if you need extra time due to the change in cliques etc we are more than happy to grant you that!

I'm going to be putting up Cody and Howard, pretty sure. I'm just waiting until Howard logs on so I can talk to him.

I should add, I also have an alliance with Shelli, but I haven't mentioned it yet, which I think is pretty telling. I mean, I like her and I'm happy to work with her but it's no question who I feel more close to between her and Kelsey. Whenever I talk to Shelli about what I'm going to do, I feel like she's working me. "So you're going to want to stay HOH, right?" "So who's bad in competitions and would lose BOTB?" "Yeah, you could put Natalie up but she's pretty strong in competitions." Like yes Shelli, I get it. You want me to stay HOH so you can be automatically safe. But Shelli is a pretty good ally and someone who's seen as a threat, which is good for me, since I'm probably also going to be seen as a threat.

Obviously, I have nominated and

Cody, with there being really no obvious nominees, and me not expecting to stay HOH, I have to put someone up that will ruffle the least feathers. Unfortunately, I think that person is you.

Howard, you are a victim of circumstance. I'm not going to put someone up who I gave my word to that they were safe, and with the unusual circumstances of last night and not having many people who I didn't give my word to, it has just so happened that you were the easiest person to nominate.

I also want to add that I think both of you are strong competitors and I am expecting you to win battle of the block. Good luck.
